University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale AZ

When the Super Bowl came to Phoenix in 2014, the NFL noted that there was not adequate radio coverage for police, fire and emergency services personnel at the Stadium. Global Spectrum, the stadium management company called WSS for the design and integration of a public safety DAS that would meet the City of Glendale’s Fire Code, the International Fire Code, and the NFL’s requirements.

The challenge was, two-fold. The Super Bowl was just three months away, and the application required both 700MHz Trunking and VHF Simplex radio systems to operate simultaneously throughout the structure, using a handheld portable radio..

WSS completed the project in time for the NFL Pro-Bowl, and Super Bowl two weeks later. The DAS operated flawlessly, for Police, Fire and Medical personnel.
